I am a general pet lover. I have owned a variety of animals over the years. Small to large, fur, feather or gills. I'm just going to say that I found Bunnies/Rabbits to be terrible pets.
They are messy, smelly (re:gross) creatures that are only really great pets if they have the ability to be kept outside where they can run around and shit where they want. Especially if you get a larger one (I had only smaller rabbits). If you have a lot of time to spend taking care of them (clean 24/7 for the area they live in not to reek) and the space for one, then it would be a great animal. If they are allowed to roam free from their cage for any period of time, they will leave poop pellets everywhere (not pleasant to find when moving furniture that you thought they couldn't get around or under). This annoyed me to no end because even my birds would wait to relieve themselves when they were in their cages.
Of course this is just the experience I've had with them, and the people I know have had with them.
