Every year I get more and more creeped out about Black Friday. Just hearing what people go through just to get stuff. C'mon, pepper spray? Really? The level of materialistic obsession and selfishness is getting just out of control. I know black Friday is supposed to fun and have that sense of the mad dash to get something for a loved one, but I think it's getting a bit out of control.

[/sits back down on soapbox]

I hope my American friends had a good Thanksgiving. :)

School is just so fucking crazy right now that it's incredible. I have about three weeks of classes left and we still have several projects left to do PER CLASS (I'm taking eight right now), plus forour final projects. Luckily I just started on the final project for my Drawing for Illustration class, but it's gonna take a lot of time. So if no one sees me for awhile I'm not dead, just working and trying to get what little sleep I can.

This weekend though should be interesting. My mum and I are Chihuahua sitting for someone this weekend while they go to Vegas. She brought the two Chihauhau's over last Friday to let them check our place out and meet the cats, boy they were not happy. Even though they're all twice the size of these dogs (well, Moe is actually about five times their size) they run like chickens. I think I'm going to be sleeping with a lot of cats on my bed tomorrow night and Sunday.

Thank you to everyone who voted in the poll; Tangled won, but I could not for the life of me get anything I made to my liking. I was creatively stumped and thought that the least I did the better I would feel and it worked. I love Stardust and thought that would be a nice theme.

Tomorrow is my interview, drawing test, creativity test and communications test at the university tomorrow. They may as well just take some blood and hair samples to test my DNA to make sure I'm really me after everything. Either way I'm not really worried, I'll just do my best and that'll have to suffice.

My back is slowly getting better. I had a physio appointment today and she's really pleased with my progress. I'm starting to walk without a cane now and am able to do some things on my own. I made dinner last night without any help and also was able to pick up Moe (if cats were sumo wrestlers he'd be one). My boss has me scheduled for a shift on the 18th, so we'll see how that goes and if it goes well then I can get back to work on a more regular basis. Which is good because mum and I don't want to go begging on the streets. Mum said that I should rent out my uterus to a gay couple and make $100,000. XD

Thank you!

Moe caught a bird this morning, well, kinda. I wasn't there, but it was on the patio near the BBQ so I think Moe just assumed he could use it as a chew toy. Mum was able to get the bird and put it in a box and it seems alright, except for being traumatized. However after looking at it we both think it's quite young. It doesn't look very mature and it still has that huge yellow beak that they open up and mum shoves food down into. It's probably learning how to fly so that's why it just kind of ended up on the patio. I put the box up on the fence under a tree with the lid open so it could fly away, but I just went to check and it's still there after three hours. I don't know if it can fly away because it's so young. :\ We know where a bird hospital is, so if worse comes to worse and it can't get away we'll take it there and they can help it.

[eta] I just looked again and the bird is gone. :D

The past two weeks of school have really kicked my butt. Painting for two weeks straight on multiple different projects and mediums was quite draining. I had fun, but I'm glad that part is over.

Thank you to everyone who voted in my poll. I honestly was going to do a landscape, but then I ultimately went in another direction and did a portrait. Why, I don't know, but I did. I spent about 26 hours on it in total and I'm glad it's finally over with. It'll be a good addition to my portfolio.

Peul Woman, acrylic on illustration board.

A couple more of my other pieces I did:

Believe, India ink on Bristol board. This was one of the costumes from the Criss Angel show I saw in Vegas in June.

Llama, India ink and watercolour on cotton rag paper.

The other night I had a dream where Castiel and I used to date, but for some reason we broke up and he threw me into a lagoon. Gee, I love you too, Cas. >.>

Today was my last day of volunteering with the kitties (for those of you from the RDJ friending meme I volunteer with VOKRA). Or so I thought. I start school on Monday, so I had to give up morning shifts to help the kitties, but I got a call from one of the coordinators asking if I could to Thursday evenings, so I will still do one shift a week. I was kind of sad to be leaving, but now I'm not. I can still do something to help.

Speaking of cats, my darling, wonderful, beautiful, loving, caring and sensitive girls, Tinkerbell and Cleo have brought us three young rats in less than 24 hours. *facepalm* Honestly, why can't they just leave nature alone? They obviously found a nest or something, because these are all small-ish rats. Two, sadly, have gone to that big rat wheel in the sky, but there is one that is... somewhere around here. I think it's under the couch or something, still alive or so mum thinks. I can handle mice, I can handle shrews running around here (we just let the troops flush them out and then we trap them and take them outside), but I'm not so comfortable with rats. The last thing I want is to randomly have a rat come out of nowhe-

AND CLEO JUST BROUGHT IN ANOTHER ONE!!! WTF??!?

LEAVE NATURE OUTSIDE. DON'T BRING IT INSIDE, LEAVE IT OUTSIDE!!!111! Goddamn. Poor thing, it was shaking and terrified. At least I was able to box it up quickly and it's now outside where it should be.

Now everyone is grounded until their 40. Well maybe not Moe, he doesn't really give a damn about any of it.

Ahh, cats. You have to love 'em.... sometimes.

Tonight mum and I made a calzone that we bought from Save-On-Foods. She picked it up yesterday from their deli department and on the label it clearly stated that it was vegetarian with 5 cheese and a whole bunch of veggies stuffed inside. About half way through our dinner we both kinda looked at each other and said this didn't taste very veggie (we've had them before). We looked inside and saw it stuffed with pepperoni, sausage, sauce ect. I guess we didn't notice sooner since we had a pasta side dish with tomato pesto and a lot of herbs that tasted like the meat calzone. This wouldn't be a huge problem for a lot of people, but I've given up eating pork and pretty much all red meat. I don't know how to feel really. I know I didn't intend to eat it and it was a mistake, but I still feel guilty.

Should we go back to the grocery store and complain? Or at least tell them? I mean, I know people make honest mistakes and I can forgive that, but I just feel kind of... I don't know. Weird for eating it.

1. NEW LAYOUT! I'll miss my Holmes one, but I'm all set for Iron Man now. *pets Tony Stark*

2. This past weekend was the big adoption event that VOKRA put on at Pet Smart. I helped out most of the day on Saturday and a bit on Sunday. Out of the 9 cats that we had in 6 got adopted out, so it was a successful weekend. I hope the three that weren't adopted (two had to go to a home together) will get a new home soon. ♥

3. And one of those adopted cats came home with me. *facepalm* I had to take Cleo home, I don't know why, but I did. She came home with me Sunday night and is a cute little thing. She is only about a year old and has already had a litter of kittens. She's recently been spayed, so her tummy is all shaved and pink. It's really cute. She's a friendly little thing, but not overly cuddly (yet), but she'll sleep beside me or near mum on the recliner. Everyone is a bit grumpy and Cleo is still nervous around Tinker and Moe, but it'll get better. It's only been three days after all.

Picture time!

MY PASSPORT ARRIVED!!!

I can now legally travel to the US without getting body checked, tasered, pepper sprayed and cuffed at the border. I've never had a passport before, so this is exciting (for me). [/nerd]

Moe. He decided to make himself comfy by squeezing himself between my PS3 and the wall... I don't know why they do that, but he proves that once again, the bigger the cat, the smaller the napping spot. The cable box wasn't even on, so it wasn't warm. *shrug*

Happy Birthday to my mommy, who turns 36 today! :D

Last night I had a dream that I was married to Judesie Law and he cheated on me. XD I can't really recall what I did, but involved some sort of time travel/AU senario, guns and him realizing I was the only one for him and coming back to me. That's right, Judesie, you don't cheat on me and get away scott free.

Some late Oscar babble:

All the winners were pretty much predictable and that was fine. I am so happy Christoph won though, because he was fantastic and deserved that statue. The rest of the show... meh. I wasn't too impressed. However I loved the presentation of the Animated Movie category, Dug is my hero. Of course RDJ and Tina Fey presenting together was awesome.

I'm going to echo a lot of people on my FL and say that I'm glad Avatar didn't win best director and picture. James Cameron bugs the hell out of me (probably because he seems like an arrogant ass) and the movie, while visually brilliant and beautiful, I don't think it is worthy of a best picture. I am so happy that his ex won Best Director. Now we have a woman winner and hopefully that'll open up more doors for women and other races/classes.

I was woken up this morning by Tinkerbell huffing and puffing on my window ledge. She wanted out and her way of pouting/being frustrated involves her making huffing and chuffing noises. It's so cute. When we pick her up sometimes (she's not hugely cuddly) she sometimes does that and also spits. She's our little diva, just like every other cat on this planet.

I also want to say that Chuck is rocking so hard this season. I love it so much and the past few episodes have been some of the best. I'm so happy it returned for another season and hope it stays around for a long while.

Moe's snoring so loud I can hear him from across the living room. XD

omg.

OMG, you guys....

I'm so proud. :*)

For the past two mornings mum and I have been robbed.

Tinkerbell has taken to waking me up around 5:30 the past couple of mornings because she wants out. Of course at 5:30 in the morning the last thing I want to do is, well, anything. So I just get up and open the kitchen window so she can go out and do her thing and I go back to bed. To make matters worse she then comes in and bugs me for breakfast at about 7:30. I even had my door closed the night before last so she wouldn't bug me, but I am now convinced that she can wake me up with her mind. She has evil powers I'm sure.

Anyway, when I get up to feed her and Moe I've noticed that the dish with the dry cat food has some how travelled across the floor and has somehow eaten itself.

No matter where we go we there will always be one or two or ten or fifteen... *headdesk* Mum saw her (at least we think she's a her and that she may be pregnant, that's why she's being so bold in breaking in) the other night as well. I guess we'll just have to be more strict when letting Tinker and Moe out while we're asleep. I kinda hope she's pregnant, I always love seeing baby raccoons around, but at the same time not because they can be annoying.

[eta] she just showed up again and she is big, so I'm thinking she really is preggers.

Dad bailed tonight so I didn't get to see Sherlock on the big screen again. He said we could go on Thursday. I want to see it at least one more time on a big screen before it goes away.

Also, proof that I am six years old. These Sherlock Macros are fuckin' awesome.

I've got 10 coupons for $10 off a paid account, so if any of you have basic or plus and want a coupon to upgrade your account let me know and I'll fire one your way. :)

I'm really starting to worry about Moe. I'm worried that he's stressed and that his blood pressure may be too high. These pictures prove that he's just gotten out of control:

I'm currently sitting in a café stealing their internet (the sign said it was free) since I still don't have a connection at home. That will be fixed on Thursday when Mr. Cable/Phone/Internet man comes over and hooks us all up with stuff. I do however have TV, so I can at least watch all the shows that I like to keep myself from going crazy.

I recorded last weeks SPN: The Curious Case of Dean Winchester )

The move was.... moveful. Moving sucks so so much, but this time mum and I were better organized for it. It took us all week to move, with the big truck that came on Thursday. It actually didn't take too long, only about 7 hours and the company we went with this time was HALF (like seriously, half) the money it was with the company we used back in May. Which is good because we are so fucked over for money right now it's not even funny. Mum's already freaking out about Christmas since it's pretty much guaranteed to be a bust if I can't get job before then.... and I'm not sure I will. I've been looking for almost 2 months now and nothing. It's making me nervous. I've been on interviews and interviews and so far nothing. Still not giving up, I can't give up, so I'll just hope for the best. I haven't been doing much job hunting the past week with the move and all, but once I get a connection on Thursday I'll go back to it full swing.

The new place is good. It's up off of a main road, so it's nice and quiet. We also have heated floors and the kitties LOVE it. They just flop down on the floor and sleep. I'm still a little nervous about letting them out with the dog in the back yard. We're not 100% sure if she's kitty friendly or not. She's a 10 month old German Shepard. She's seen Tinkerbell through the fence and is very interested, so we'll see.

I'm so thankful last week is over, it took a big toll on all of us. Sunday was the first day I could do whatever so I slept for 14 hours and then had a 2 hour nap in the evening. Yay sleep!

How are all of you? There's no way I'll be able to catch up on anything LJ wise, so if there's anything you would like me to read/see ect. let me know and I'll probably get to it on Thursday or Friday. :D

My poor Tinky got beat up last night by Mittens. Mum and I were eating dinner and then we heard all this noise and when I opened the door Mittens was on top of her and going for her neck. That really worried me. I mean cat's fight, but Mittens is just so huge and can over power her so easily, she could get seriously hurt. At least Moe is in Mittens weight class, so he has a better chance and a wicked bite. She's been inside since last night and is afraid to go outside. :( That is not like her. She doesn't seem injured, we checked her over last night, but who knows. I'll take another look when I get home tonight.

Bad Mittens.
