Charlize Theron and Stuart Townsend arrived at the Praia da Tiririca (Tiririca Beach), at one kilometer of Itacaré, in the south of the State of Bahia, around December 23rd. They went there with 30 friends and Orlando Bloom and Kate Bosworth. They closed a small hotel called Sage Point for themselves - which is in front of the beach and has 17 rooms. All of them spent Christmas and New Year's Eve there, a place that surfers like to go to. They could stay there almost incognito, especially because of Charlize's dark hair, that she dyed for Aeon Flux. The actress already knew the place. Charlize has been to Itacaré at the beginning of 2004, to rest, in the same hotel, a few days before the Oscars. During their stay, they dined every night at Casa Sapucaia - that offers menus dedicated to exotic meals such as Thai and Indian food -, among other tourists, who didn't seem to recognize them (because they weren't surrounding them). Between snacks and spicey food, Char always drank margheritas and talked about the the hospitality and joy of the baianos (PS: people who are born in the State of Bahia). On Thursday, December 30th, all of them attended the Timbalada concert, at the Praia da Ribeira (Ribeira Beach), one of the 15 beaches of Itacaré. The following night, they enjoyed the presentation of the capoeira (a sport of African origin) group Tribo do Porto, by Master Jamaica, in front of the restaurant Casa Sapucaia. They enjoyed so much the performance of the capoeira players (capoeiristas) that they invited the group to spent New Year's Eve with them at the hotel. Their New Year's Eve was calm. They had diner in the hotel restaurant and then went to a party at the beach, organized by the hotel itself. Charlize and Orlando were so at ease that they even tried to play the instruments used in the celebration, in the sands of Tiririca. Kate Bosworth celebrated her birthday there, last Sunday, January 2nd.
