With seeing the ads for the Percy Jackson film it got me thinking about maybe picking up one of the books. I know they're YA novels, but are they any good and would adults enjoy them? I always love Greek mythology and the premise looks kind of interesting.

Thank you! :D

I'm planning to read them ^_^ As long as the story is good, I am there, YA books or not ;) Besides, how can you not love Greek Mythology!

I've read the first one, it's very YA and not my cuppa tea. I know two other people who really loved it, so I'm outnumbered. There's loads of action and mysterious folks. Just did not ring my bell.

I've read really good YA book that appeal to all ages and then the others that are don't go past the YA age, so I think I'll check the first one out at least just to see.

I'm looking forward to this movie as well, and I do hear the books are fantastic, but I'd rather not suffer through reading YA novels any time soon.

I think I'll be just fine with watching me some Sean Bean Zeus action. mmmm.

When I first saw that Bean was Zeus I was pretty pumped.

OMG. I picked them up for the same reason (that the movie is coming out). I may have read all five books in three days. However, I must say that they are YA books, so you're going to get what you get with YA books (easy vocabulary, coming of age story, romance where no one has any idea of what's going on, and so on and so forth). I will say this though - if you're in it for the mythology, Riordan does a good job with sticking with the "accepted" facts of mythology. If you're looking for a light, easy read, then I would say pick the first one up.

Hope this helps!

I finished the first book and I really liked it. It's pretty much like any other YA adventure book out there.

My sister's a HUGE Greek mythology geek, and she got into the books ages and ages ago, and then got me reading them (since she's actually their target audience). I really, really enjoy them. They are definitely YA, but they're also really, really good.

YES YES A MILLION TIMES YES.

I randomly bought the first one. And loved it. More than Harry Potter I daresay. I definitely liked reading it more than Rowling's stuff *ducks*
