Bloom, Byrne, Paxton roles made in 'Haven'
Flowers will make feature directing debut from his own script,
By DANA HARRIS
Orlando Bloom, Bill Paxton and Gabriel Byrne will star in "Haven," which is financed by El Camino Pictures, the film financing company formed by Bob Yari with William Morris Independent.
Frank E. Flowers will make his feature directing debut from his own script, which takes place over the course of one weekend. In "Haven," two shady businessmen flee to the Cayman Islands to avoid federal prosecution. Their escape ignites a chain reaction that leads a British native to commit a crime that changes the country.
Rounding out the cast are Victor Rasuk ("Raising Victor Vargas"), Joy Bryant ("Antwone Fisher") and Anthony Mackie ("8 Mile").
Flowers wrote and directed the short film "Swallow," which won the HBO short film award at the American Black Film Festival.
Producers are Robbie Brenner and Yari, with Bloom co-producing. Executive producers are Aleen Keshishian and Kelli Konop.
El Camino also financed "A Love Song for Bobby Long," which stars John Travolta and Scarlett Johansson and will be distributed by Screen Gems, and "Sueno," starring John Leguizamo.
He's co-producing now. *G*
