The Racoon Saga™ continues.

I'm sitting on the couch with the front door open waiting for Eowyn to come in when I see this cute masked face looking at me. But this time it wasn't poking through the door. This time it was HALFWAY TO THE KITCHEN AND TO THE CAT FOOD!!! I gasped and it just stood there looking at me frozen. I swear I wish I had my camera because it didn't know what to think. You see I have my clay face mask on and it didn't know what to make of me. It had the most perfect WTF? face. So cute. Anyway, I waved at it and said hi and he bolted.

Last night I watched the most awesome program on Animal Planet. It was Dragons: Fantasy Made Real. If you haven't seen it you really should try and watch. You will believe that dragons are real after you watch this. :)

I LOVE that special! I taped it when it aired and the VHS quality is pure CRAP so I am saving up my money to get the DVD.

I am a HUGE dragon fan so, of course, my love for Animal Planet as multiplied.

you know if it's that bound and determined to get food why not put a bowl of cat food outside for it?

1 racoon + 1 bowl of food = many racoons. I'd love to do that, but unfortunately it could just attract more and other things and we don't want them around Eowyn and Coda.

very true. I forgot about the kitties. Plus, they get kinda mean. The raccoons I mean.

That special was so fantastic. I taped it and watched it 3 or 4 times, and then ended up getting the DVD.

Also: We have at least two raccoons that come around here and eat the catfood we have outside. We've seen three different ones that we know of, though there's only a big male and a small female that we think has babies somewhere and is using us as a convenient food source. The mother is really shy and will run at anything, but the male has gotten really bold. Mom said tonight that he won't run off even if she gets pretty close to him.

I wish I taped it, but I want to save up for the DVD.

Yeah, we think this guy is pretty young. He's not thin, but he's not a huge guy either. We've seen him with a few others too, so he's probably a part of a family.

The "Dragons" thing is totally awesome! I watched it when it first aired a coupla months ago. Very very well-done.

Heehee. I love racoons, we even had one as a pet. But you want to be careful. They will kill a cat in a flash. So watch your pets. Heck they even beat the crap out of my dog once!

My dog has killed a number of racoons over the years, so I'm more used to protecting them. LOL

I heard about that show; it sounded excellent. Apparently they might do a whole series of them - mermaids, unicorns, etc. But dragons are clearly the coolest.

*glances over comments* Dude, wtf? Is it just me or was I the only one taught growing up 'DON'T GO NEAR THE RACOONS THEY'VE GOT RABIES!!!' (especially if it's daylight and they're coming near people?)

Or maybe that's just heavy suburbia.

Heh.

I should tell my mom about your raccoons. As long as they're on the other side of the door, there's no real need to panic.
