Every year I always make a birthday list up for my family and every year I usually put something on it that I'd love to have, but know I'll never get just because it's too much or too out of reach. But this morning my dad started asking questions about one of those items that I would love to have but know I would never get. If he's seriously thinking about getting me it then... OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There's been some controversy/speculation/rumours/freak outs in the SPN fandom over the past few days. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. Personally I'm going to reserve judgement (if these casting rumours are at all accurate) until the episodes air. I'm neither yay or nay for it. It could either really work with the show and be a good thing or just be a disaster (which I'm hoping it isn't). Either way I'm still just happy there's a third season.

Mum's going to her regular doctor tomorrow about her hand. It's still pretty bad and she just wants to make sure that she's doing the right thing for it.

Can you fill me in on the casting rumors? I read fic in the fandom, but I'm not actually at ALL in the fandom, so I haven't seen a freak-out at all.

The CW Creative Dept. is "supposedly" forcing Kripke to add in two female characters as regulars. Apparently, they want them to be twenty-something hunters. Which is all fine and dandy if they do it up proper. Which means make them Xena/Gabby les with no interest in Sam and Dean beyond what they can do for each other professionally.

... what? Oh, CW, you wound me. Because CW is all about teen drama and crap, so of course they're going to want romance or something. Bah. I hope Kripke fights them, or does something decent if he's forced. Here's me hoping the rumors aren't true!

From what I read, he's trying to negotiate. New, more regular characters don't bother me. It's rather expected at this point. Even The X-Files had made Skinner, the CSM and Krycek more central characters by the third season. The two guys need people who can help take up the slack. Also, it's believable more hunters would be involved with the story at this point. If that's what he's trying to sort out - give them purpose beyond potential love interests - I'm cool with it.

Yeah, but why else would the CW demand request two female characters, if not for the romance angle? I mean, why not introduce two other male hunters, or a male/female team?

Also, if they add two new female characters, can they do a genderswap episode? Because THAT would rock...

I think that's what the CW's angle is, but Kripke apparently doesn't think that aspect would fit with the show. I agree, it wouldn't. Seems to me he's trying to manage some control over how it's done, if he has to do it. He'd just gotten from under a stiff network thumb when the two networks merged. As I learned elsewhere, Kripke had wanted to branch out thematically and character-wise in the first season, but the old network wanted MOTW. He had more creative control which is why - IMHO - S2 was so much better.

Well, here's me with my fingers crossed hoping season three ends up being just as fantastic.

That's...about what I'd expect from idiot network heads, actually. Oi, assholes!? IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT!!!!!!!!
But...whatever. Sheesh, if they wanted 2 female regulars...why don't they just make Ellen and Jo regulars? I wouldn't resent it, then.

Jo went over like a lead balloon, but I blame that on poor planning/writing. I could see Jo returning, but I don't think she's what the network has in mind. Ellen, they probably think is too old, which is sad, because with Samantha Ferris off of The 4400 now (in exchange for some hot, young blonde whorebag), it's prime time to step up Ellen's screentime/involvement.

What they have in mind is something to bring in a higher male demo. Since it seems the show barely managed a third season, the CW's pulling an NBC, "Well, your show isn't the best in the ratings, but we'll give you another season. We think you have potential!" "Yay!" Then a month later, "But now you gotta sex it up to earn your keep. ::drop list of suggetions on Kripke's desk:: You owe us, anyway." "DO NOT WANT!"

So...yeah, I agree with you on everything you just said.
And dammit, I *LIKE* Ellen, and she's hot. I bet boys think so, too. *nods*

Her hand. It's just so painful so if it's not feeling better she's just going to stay home. And dad wouldn't be able to walk around with us, because of his hip he can't stand for very long.

My parents are cripples. ;__;

Wow, I wish I would have seen your original post about Moe biting your mom earlier. :( I am an Animal Science major and had I seen that post, I would have told you to take your mom to the ER ASAP. Cat bites are worse than almost any other animal bite because a cat's teeth are so long and narrow and carry lots of bacteria. Since the teeth create a long, narrow puncture wound, the infection can't leak out. It just stays inside and gets worse and worse. It's a very good thing your mom went to the hospital when she did. Moe has current vaccinations, doesn't he? I hope your mom's arm heals all right. I would recommend keeping a very, very close eye on it, though.

I got bit by one of my mom's cats about a year ago in the hand and since I knew about the danger of cat bites, went immediately to the ER. The doctor told me there was a 50% chance of infection even with having the wound cleaned right after it happened! He also said that if it did get infected, they'd probably have to do surgery to remove the infection, and then there was a chance of me losing partial or all feeling/use of my hand! :S

Of course, it ended up healing just fine. And I don't want to freak you out or anything, but definitely be aware of your mom's wound and what it looks like/how it feels. I'm glad to hear she's going to the doctor again to get it checked out again. The antibiotics should help. I'll be thinking and praying for you guys!
