Am home. Am thirsty.

I am now officially graduated high school. :D
The ceremony was nice, just sort of your typical high school grad. There were probably about thirty of us all in total, so it wasn't too long to wait for everyone to walk across, the whole thing was probably about an hour and a half.
I got to walk across the floor and get my diploma, my real diploma this time. My other diploma wasn't really meaningful, since I didn't have the full credits to fully graduate back in 2002. I didn't really care back then anyway, now I do.
It was nice to have my mum, dad and
gremmie_goo there. I didn't know any of the other graduates, so knowing I had people there I love was enough.
Oh, and I won two awards/scholarships. Yeah, I totally wasn't expecting it as well. I got one for my Fine Arts course and one for my Grade 11 completion (or something like that, I have to reread that). Apparently the competition for the Fine Arts scholarships was pretty tight and only me and one other person got it. I was really touched by that.
And that's about it. :)

I love how grad gowns make people look about 50 times wider than they really are. Someone needs to design a better looking one.

This one looks like I'm dancing. :P

Date: 2007-06-28 07:27 am (UTC)And seriously - I agree with you on the graduation gowns. Ours were white and we looked like a cross between really deranged brides with cardboard on their heads and overly puffed marshmallows. Whoever decided on those ridiculous fashions, however many centuries ago, clearly was cackling maniacally in the background at the thought of what dolts the graduates would look like. *facepalm* However, you still manage to pull the ensemble off rather marvelously because you look very happy and Bonzalicious. (Totally an adjective.)
Goo is adorable, too. I <3 the pics of both of you together.

Date: 2007-06-28 07:41 pm (UTC)AND YAY FOR THE AWARDS/SCHOLARSHIPS! Awesomeness ♥
And yes whoever designed those suckers should be shot and someone else brought in for a major redesign. My high school one was white o.O (guys got to wear the blue) and college was black. BLACK. OUTSIDE. NOOOOOOES!
And both of them made me look sooo friggin' bigger than I was. WTF. Stupid gowns lol.

Date: 2007-06-28 10:03 pm (UTC)Black outside? How did you survive? *shudder*

Date: 2007-06-28 08:36 pm (UTC)Yeah, they really do need to design better gowns.
Congrats! :D

Date: 2007-06-28 10:28 pm (UTC)Luckily I didn't have to wear a cap and gown for my graduation--we just did white dresses for the girls and suits for the guys. But all the girls got bouquets of yellow roses and we had to keep them balanced on our forearm while we took the diploma with that hand and shook with the other. Rather tricky to execute...:)
