Staples is giving me $1400 for a new laptop. Unfortunately I can only get it as credit, so I can't cash it and go somewhere else and get a new computer. So, I can get a new computer or $1400 worth of pens.

They also won't give me back my old laptop, I figured they wouldn't, but they may not send it back to me just so I can get everything off of it. I might have to go all the way out to their service center and put everything on disk, or pay a tech $80 an hour to do it for me. Nothing is ever easy.

technically, you own it, right? Either way, they should give you a week to do it in your home, and then bring it back to them. Dimwits.

Yeah, I own it, but they won't give me the the $1400 for a new one if I keep it. It's crazy, but that's the way it is.
